Raised Needle Weave Bar

Raised Needle Weave Bar is also known as

Raised Needle Weave Stitch, Needle Weave Bar [EN].

About the Raised Needle Weave Bar

The Raised Needle Weaving Stitch is a dimensional stitch ideal for 3D embroideries. The weaving is done between two stitches, and the woven bar can be laid flat on the fabric or given a hunched look based on the project’s requirements. You would need an extra pin or needle to hold the base stitches in place while weaving.

How to do the Raised Needle Weave Bar

Fig 1: Come out from point A, and go in back through B, a point not too spaced out from A. Do not pull out the needle completely. Instead, make a loop that will be the length of your woven stitch. Fig 2: Next, hold the loop pulled by placing a needle or pin, as shown here. Then, come out using the same needle and thread from near the stitch point, A.
Fig 3: Sart weaving up and down between these two threads. Be careful not to pluck the fabric underneath. Fig 4: Weave to the brim until no space is left to weave. Then, you can pull out the holding needle.  This will create a small space at the tip of the woven stitch.
Fig 5: Pass your working needle through the space created by holding the needle at the tip and pin the stitch down on the fabric by passing through it. I will pin it down a little below from where the holding needle was to give it a slight hunch. Fig 6: Next, hold the loop pulled by placing a needle or pin, as shown here. Then, come out using the same needle and thread from near the stitch point, A.
