About the Crown Stitch
The Crown Stitch is a motif stitch made of a single Fly Stitch and a couple of straight stitches. It resembles an inverted crown. This stitch can be used to add textural patterns and can be used along with beads or sequins to add some glitz to your work.
How to do the Crown Stitch
Fig 1: Start by making a single Fly Stitch. | Fig 2: After making the tail of the Fly Stitch, bring it back up from the earlier point, as shown. |
Fig 3: Then, take it in at an angle to make another ‘tail’. Come back again through the earlier point. | Fig 4: Now, make a similar ‘tail’ to the other side at an angle. Take the needle in and finish your stitch. |
Fig 5: The Crown Stitch will look like this. You can make the side stitches detached from the middle point, too. |
