About the Padded Cross Stitch
The Padded Cross Stitch is excellent for creating quick textures and fillings with a slight embossing. The technique is similar to making the Cross Stitch. The only addition would be that instead of going between two stitch points just once, you would go through it twice to create that bold look. The crosses made this way look thicker and more prominent.
How to do the Padded Cross Stitch
Fig 1: Make a small diagonal stitch as you would for the Cross Stitch. Make another stitch over it to make it into a double stitch. |
Fig 2: Make another diagonal stitch to complete the cross. Again, make a layer of one more stitch to make the stitch plumper. |
Fig 3: That’s it! There you have, a bold-looking Cross Stitch. | Fig 4: Scatter them around for a prominent filling. |
