About the Double Cretan Stitch
The Double Cretan Stitch is created by layering two rows of the Cretan Stitch in a complementary fashion. The row looks rich and is great for working textured outlines and fillings. Team it up with other isolated stitches or add beads and jewels to add some interest to it. Try it over the cuffs and necklines of your clothing to give it a Smocking effect.
