Tuft Couching

About Tuft Couching
The Tuft Couching is an isolated dimensional and, probably, a more contemporary stitch. Here, a bunch of thread is couched down to the fabric and used beautifully, especially as dimensional flowers. It can be trimmed to be given the desired length and shape. The Tuft Couching can be a quick way to create fuzzy texture over a pattern.

How to do the Tuft Couching

Fig 1: Take some thread and wind it between your fingers to make a bunch of the desired length. Lay them on the fabric at a location
where you want to fix it.
Fig 2: Now, bring out the couching thread from one point somewhere close to the center of the
bunch of thread.
Fig 3: Go over the bunch of thread and take the needle in very close to the early point, as shown. Fig 4: This pins down the bunch of thread to the fabric. You can also choose to tie the bunch instead of couching it down this way.
Fig 5: Next, fold the bunch of threads, as shown. Then, bring out the needle close to the base, go over the base, and take it in through the fabric. This will hold the bunch of thread in shape and in place. Fig 6: I went around it twice. You can trim the top using scissors and give it a frayed look.
