About the Torocko Stitch
Probably inspired by the traditional Hungarian embroidery style from Torockó (now Rimetea, Romania), this stitch technique is used to fill the centers of flowers. This stitch can be used in modern embroidery to create textures and patterns over plain surfaces. The Torocko Stitch is an easy-filling stitch that couches down evenly laid horizontal and vertical threads with crosses. These crosses are further tacked down with smaller crosses. This makes a lot of room to play around with different colors to create various effects.
