Triple Chain Stitch is also known as
Puntada de Cadena Triple[ES].
About the Triple Chain Stitch
As the name implies, this variation of the Chain Stitch involves three rows of the Chain Stitch. The third row is worked between two parallel and aligned rows of Chain Stitch. The Triple Chain Stitch can be made broad or narrow by adjusting the distance between the two base rows of the Chain Stitch. This stitch can make a beautiful decoration for borders and a lovely stitch for Crazy Quilting!
How to do the Triple Chain Stitch
Fig 1: Make two parallel and aligned rows of the Chain Stitch. | Fig 2: Now, with another thread, come out from the center gap between these rows. Pass the needle under the inner sides of both the Chain stitches, as shown. |
Fig 3: Then, take the needle through the earlier stitch point and come out in alignment to the Chain Stitches in the two parallel rows, as shown. | Fig 4: Pull out the needle completely and you will see that a Chain is formed linking the two parallel rows. |
Fig 5: Continue making more chains this way. | Fig 6: End your last chain by anchoring it down with a small stitch, as shown. |
Fig 7: This is how your Triple Chain Stitch will look like! |
