The Blanket Stitch Triangles is also known as
Triangular Blanket Stitch Stitch [EN]
About the Blanket Stitch Triangles.
This is a creative variation of the Blanket Stitch and an expression of how versatile this family of stitches can be. Each triangle is made of 4 series of Blanket Stitches. Once you learn how to create this base, you can add more to it by adding a whipped variation or a threaded variation, or even slipping in beads. Try them on edges instead of the regular Blanket Stitch for a more decorative look.
How to do the Blanket Stitch Triangles
Fig 1: Start by doing a Blanket Stitch between the two stitch lines, as shown. This will form one side of the triangle. |
Fig 2: Next, make a parallel Blanket Stitch, but a little shorter. |
Fig 3: Again, make a parallel BlanketStitch, a little shorter. | Fig 4: Now, make one more Blanket Stitch starting joining the top corner to the bottom corner, and closing up the triangle. |
Fig 5: That makes one triangle. Repeat the process to make more triangles this way. | Fig 6: A finished portion would look like this. |
