Mixed Media Embroidery

When you think of hand embroidery, what comes to your mind? A fabric surface ornated with threads? That’s good in the traditional sense. But, hand embroidery is more than just threads and fabric. You can stitch over anything that you can get your needle through! So, why not try a few mediums other than just different kinds of fabric? In this section, I will show how you can stitch using clay, canvas, paper, wood, and pretty much anything that can make an interesting project. We will also explore using hand embroidery along with other elements like paint. These projects allow you to think beyond the traditional use of hand embroidery and stimulate your creativity. Some of these projects are seasonal and can make for a great activity to do as a family or in a group.
