Here is a Maori influenced medallion I stitched using a Herringbone Ladder stitch. I carefully marked my backstitch on the inner and outer circles to have the same number of stitches and to be precisely offset from each other so the weaving stitch came out nice and even.

Hi Sarah,
I was just browsing through this site. I caught sigth of kasuti embroidery. I have been doing kasuti work for over 25 year now. I just wanted to clarify a few things regarding kasuti. I will send you some photos regarding this, and give your comments. I use a net that is drawn out after the finished work
Usha pawar
hi,very nice kasuthi work, where can i get that thin net cloth for kasuthi
I love your site and over the years have referenced it often. This piece was created with back stitch, french knots, seed stitch, and satin stitch. I work out of my studio in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Hi Sarah,
The site is too informative.I really liked it.Please post some designs/patters for saree.
Thanks,

Hi sarah,
i am a big fan of your website and i am just learner of embroidery.i am awaiting for ur book…wen we will expect to get the same???
Dear Sarah, I have done several embroidary works and applique works. I came across your web site through one of friends and also learnt several stitches. I like your website very much. I find it difficult to upload my works because I am not very familiar with the camera and computer. In spite of it I have uploaded three of my works. 1. A wall panel which is done entirely with chain stitch. 2. shadow work done on a thick black background. You are requested to give your comments on those.
Susheela
Dear Susheela,
Your work is really nice. We have received only the shadow work. Thanks for taking efforts to upload.I like the design and the neatness with which you have done the work. The ‘shadow’ do not seem to appear in the photo. I see that it is a big piece of work, so what you can do is, hold the cloth against little light and take a picture of only a section of the entire piece…like the peacock. Also, iron the fabric before taking the picture…it will add to its appeal. 🙂
Dear,
I go through your site but i didn’t find your address or ph.please share it …
“fun” not fund. apologies.
I thoroughly enjoy and am grateful for your detailed website, which I have been following for over a year. I am returning to hand embroidery after many years without it. You give me inspiration and wonderful tutorials so I might experiment with new and fun stitches! I may not comment often but be assured I check your site almost daily. Thank you for such an informative and fund site.
It would be so nice to be a part of such great venture. Wishing you best of luck. I have pictures on my blog probably would be useful. Please take a look..

Exploring stitches…! The fabric( for a kameez) is a synthetic and silk blend. I have used daisy stitch and back stitch to create the design. Have also used (Stitch type) kundan stones and copper finish sequins. Certainly dint take as long to finish as I thought it would…
A big thank you for your great website…:)
Dear Pallavi,
Thanks for contributing. We liked your embroidery work. But, the picture is not clear and sharp enough to use in the e-book. If possible, please try to send a clearer and high resolution picture to us. 🙂
Dear Sarah,
