I am hoping that by some off the things I do, people will reach out and try new things. Lots of times, when I start something – I am not sure I can make it OK. For the beading… It first, I did not know how many beads would work. What I did was put my threaded needle in, put a number of the beads on the needle…………..push the beads down onto the fabric and then, put my needle against the last bead.

I received your e mail about using beads in embroidewry……….Unknowingly, I think I did that years ago when making purses. (Hope this prints) Here is a beaded horse purse I did years ago.

Hello…..I wanted to send you a photo of the peacock I embroidered……I’m still waiting on the embroidery floss I want to use soooooooooooo, rather then not embroider, I chose a photo I thought would go good on a pillow. I’ve done that and am sending it to you to view. I know I’ve made mistakes but it is my very first. Hope you like it.

This is a fragment of 1820s embroidery pattern for Berlin’s wool work. I used cross-stitch technique to make the embroidery and top stitched it to a collar of a dress-shirt. It turned out looking great, I got lot’s of complements 🙂
In the article I gave a link to your cross-stitch how-to tutorial.

      Hi Smitha,
Thank you very much for all these contributions. They are beautiful, especially the Christmas ornaments. Sorry for responding late…we were caught up in a year long travel out of the country.

    Hi Sarah,
I note the e-book completion bar is excitingly close, at 190/210.
Perhaps you could post a list of the last 20 stitches you would like photos for? I’m sure many contributors would be happy to create pieces featuring whichever stitches you need!
    Blessings,
    AA

      Hi Alison,
That’s a great idea! There are many stitches for which I desperately wished someone would provide samples. And I guess it will be good if I just list it out there. 🙂

I am sorry for the double post. I thought the first had not posted. Do you need a description for the other picture (the blue flowers)?

This picture is from a challenge I completed back in 2010. The Koi fish is silk ribbon embroidery using mostly straight stitch with some split stitches. The head uses the same stitches with silk thread, not ribbon. The gold outline is an outline stitch using Krenick thread. The eye is satin stitched. The waves are just ribbon that is shaped and tacked down with small stitches. The lace to the right is attached with detached lazy daisy or chain stitch using silk perle thread (size 5? maybe). There are many more to share from this piece, but I cannot continue to post right now.

Beautiful work. I am also interested in your profile picture as my name is also Karen and I used to have a black and white cat and a smaller, younger black cat. I appreciate the detail of these photos of your work but am interested in seeing the entire piece. Thanks!

Here is an example of bullion stitch done in overdyed silk floss. The green stitching is the fly stitch and fern stitch. It is eventually to be a crazy quilt pincushion.
