This is a beautifully presented and wonderfully informative book. As a relative beginner to embroidery, I have a new passion for learning floral designs. The 12 rose designs are so well illustrated, very pretty and colourful. Also, the step by step guidance, from drawing the patterns to completing the stitches, is very clear and accessible. It is a lovely book that I will treasure.

When I saw Sarah’s e-mail about her new book, I went right over and bought it, at a great surprise introductory price. It doesn’t disappoint. Sarah’s photographs make it easy to follow the directions step by step, probably even if one didn’t speak English. Her words are clear and concise, as well. The 12 patterns are each lovely, and they are different from one another, both in stitch and in design. Along the way, Sarah shows places and ways the stitching can be used, other than merely on a flat piece of fabric. She also includes charming proverbs and sayings about roses with each stitch. As if that weren’t enough for the price, the last 20 pages are all tutorials on the stitches shown in the book. As she used them in the roses, she included the page number to find the tutorial, if you weren’t familiar with the stitch. More great pictures. I am excited to begin stitching these roses on my next crazy quilt project, which is soap labels. I think these designs will make the blocks SO feminine! Thank you, Sarah.
